The blood found in the home of murdered "Grandma" Rini Ansems (82) of Maastricht "may belong to 38-year-old Sandra N., but she did not kill Ansems.
That was stated by lawyer Serge Weening Tuesday in the Maastricht court during the start of the criminal case against Sandra N., who was arrested in July this year for the murder of "Grandma Rini" in January.
How N.'s blood ended up in the home of Grandma Rini, as Ansems was affectionately called in the neighborhood, Weening now wants to see investigated.
Heroin injection
According to the lawyer, the drug addict N. would have lost blood during a heroin injection. The syringe of blood in question would then have been taken by another person - possibly an acquaintance who eventually put the police on N.'s trail - to the home of "Grandma Rini.
The court will consider the request of Weening - who also wants to hear several witnesses, including N.'s mother. The trial will continue in February next year.
Rini Ansems was found on Jan. 23 in the garage of her home in the Maastricht neighborhood of Wolder. She appeared to have been stabbed to death.
