Zoetermeer employer arrested for human smuggling from India (NOS.nl)

An owner of a metal company in Zoetermeer was arrested Tuesday for being suspected of human trafficking and smuggling six workers from India, among other things. This was reported by the Dutch Labor Inspection. The workers were presumably brought to the Netherlands under false pretenses, according to the Labor Inspection. Agreements on wages to be received and hours to be worked were not met. The man arranged airline tickets for the employees, possibly together with his accountant.
