Not a mega case, but news I think: A 62-year-old man from the South Limburg town of Ransdaal is suspected of raping and fornicating for years with his then 15-year-old stepdaughter. This is according to investigation information.
The abuse allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013 in the home of prime suspect Jan J. and in his car, among other places. The case came to light some time ago after the victim, who is originally from Hengelo but lived with J. for some time, reported the abuse to the Limburg police.
According to insiders, Jan J. has since made a statement. Regarding the accusations, he has invoked his right to remain silent. He would have attempted suicide some time ago, but through the intervention of the criminal investigation department he refrained from doing so. Sanne Koumans, J.'s lawyer, confirmed the allegations against her client, but did not want to comment further on the case.
Jan J. will have to appear in court at a later date.
