19-year-old Maastricht convert Aïcha, who was freed from Syria by her mother, is suspected of participating in a terrorist organization and training terrorists.

The investigation, which is being run in Limburg, should reveal whether Aïcha has actually committed crimes or is mainly a victim of jihadist propaganda. It is general policy, according to the prosecutor's office, that returned Syrian nationals are apprehended and their actions in Syria investigated.
