Shots fired in pursuit of car thieves (Limburger.nl)
During a pursuit of two car thieves, police fired shots at around 4 a.m. Friday morning. Eventually, the suspects were trapped in Schimmert.
The two men from Heerlen (30) and Roermond (24) allegedly stole a car from a residence in Sibbe and made off in that car. After a wild chase including via the Raarberg in Meerssen and the Cauberg in Valkenburg in which several police vehicles were deployed and police fired on the fleeing car, the suspects could be apprehended in Schimmert.
