Six years in prison for robbery murder
The Rotterdam District Court sentenced a 26-year-old man from Sierra Leone to six years in prison for a robbery with fatal results in Rotterdam-Delfshaven. A co-accused was acquitted.
The robbery took place late last year in a residence on Catharina Beermansstraat. The robber targeted a foreign man with a lot of money. Much violence was used in the robbery. The victim, a 46-year-old man from South America, was not found until days later.
Investigations revealed that the man died from a combination of a weak heart, narcotics and stress. According to the judges, the stress was caused by the robbery.
