Romanians caught skimming in Vught
VUGHT - Three Romanians were caught skimming at the NS railway station in Vught on Monday evening. Skimming is copying debit cards. Two of the men were arrested. The third suspect is still without a trace. An observant witness saw that on the ATM at the station equipment was placed to copy bank cards. At that moment, three men ran by and yanked the device loose. The witness was able to apprehend one of them himself, a 29-year-old Romanian. A 25-year-old compatriot was detained by police. Near the station, a car was impounded that was believed to belong to the men. It is not known if any people were duped by the skimmers.Skimming
Skimming involves copying data from bank cards and then using it to make illegal withdrawals. This usually happens abroad. Police do not yet know how long the device was on the ATM.
