BRUNSSUM - The police yesterday morning arrested two Brunssum boys aged fifteen and seventeen who are suspected of killing 77-year-old Arnold Vink in their hometown in March of this year.The teenagers broke into Vink's home on March 5. They then stole a VCR and jewelry. The two went back before March 10 when Vink was found dead in his home - and stole items again. Presumably, Vink was killed in those two burglaries. Justice does not want to speak of murder at this stage of the investigation because that implies premeditation. It could also be manslaughter or aggravated assault resulting in death, says press prosecutor A. Rogier.

Finch reported the burglary to police after the break-in on March 5. On March 10, he was found dead by a domestic worker in his home on De Ruyterstraat in Brunssum's Eggen neighborhood. In the meantime, the two boys returned and stole items again. Whether Vink then caught them and a skirmish occurred in which he was killed remains unclear. Justice will not say how Vink was killed, nor will it say on what day the second burglary occurred. Police got on the trail thanks to tips following a call on the TV program The Golden Tip. The houses where the boys live have been searched. Justice would not say whether any stolen goods from Vink's house were found.

The press officer said it is troubling that two minors are likely to be responsible for Vink's death. "Unfortunately, over the last year, we are more often faced with young suspects in life crimes."
