Because of the cultivation of hemp in a huge nursery in Elburg, three men from the Gooi region must cough up a total of 785,000. The public prosecutor is demanding this amount because they allegedly made so much profit. Furthermore, the trio has been demanded 240 hours of community service and two months of suspended imprisonment.
The nursery in a former vegetable and fruit shop on the J.P. Broekhovenstraat in Elburg was rounded up on December 6, 2017. The police found no fewer than 1616 hemp plants there, divided into two rooms in locked cold storage. Based on an anonymous report several weeks before, an investigation was conducted, during which the three men came into view.
