Justice is demanding long prison sentences in the Landgraaf murder case Bobo Jalloh. Dave G. received the highest sentence, 24 years in prison. He allegedly inflicted the fatal stabbing. Justice also weighed in that he had previously been convicted of a serious violent crime.
Another suspect, Hub M., must serve 18 years in prison, according to the prosecution. He too was present in the residence when the victim was murdered.
The same sentence was for Hadiyatou D., the victim's wife. Justice believes she is the mastermind behind the murder, which took place on the evening of May 31, 2017. A fourth suspect is an accomplice, according to justice, and should receive six years in prison. He was not present but, according to the prosecutor's office (OM), he facilitated the murder and is therefore an accomplice.
The victim was stabbed eight times in his chest in his home on the Koempel in Landgraaf. Bobo Jalloh did not survive the attack. His wife allegedly plotted the murder with three men. She did so because she was being abused by her husband. On that particular evening, she had been in contact by phone with the two men, who were to visit. She allegedly even opened the door for them. The third man had dropped out by then.
After the murder, the woman would sell the home and give some of the profits to the two men.
Police initially could not solve the case because there were few traces and leads. Months after the investigation was halted, a dna match via a tiewrap finally broke the case.
"If that one trace had not been found, this case would never have been solved," suspects the prosecution, which speaks of an almost perfect murder. In doing so, the prosecution was fortunate that the dna of one of the suspects was already in the dna database due to a previous aggravated assault. After one of the suspects immediately started talking, he was not even at the police station yet, the case gained momentum and the victim's wife, among others, could also be arrested.
According to District Attorney Leonard Geuns, it is a case where the truth has become clear little by little. Not for nothing have there already been fifteen days of hearings. "And still we do not know everything, especially also because the statements of suspects are contradictory and also constantly changing," the prosecutor said.
Nevertheless, justice believes that premeditated murder can be proven. "The victim was brutally slaughtered, after first being tied up by two men wearing balaclavas," the justice department said. The lawyers will speak later and then the court will see when a verdict will be delivered.
